Charles is from Massachusetts and started framing in Philadelphia in 1992 then in NYC, on the Upper East Side. There, he worked for the high-end framing business Acanthus and Reed and learned preservation framing for museum quality artworks. To say he excels at precision details for all aspects of fitting and meticulous handling of artwork would be to downplay his grit. Charles has been with Sarah Balinskas Fine Framing since 2018 and has learned the process for making the company’s hand finished hardwood frames. An interesting fact: his Super Bowl parties in NYC were legendary for his execution of elaborate concepts.
