A peek into the design process
A peek into the design process for a collection of 36 arrowheads. The final design was mounted on a hand-wrapped fabric rag mat and fitted in a custom polished brass frame with beautiful patina. Do you have any artifacts, collections, or cherished objects in need of a framing solution? Our designers would love to see them.

The Murphy frame
Painted in 1916, "Autumn on the Delaware" is possibly one of the last impressionist works by American painter Charles Rosen before his pivot to Precisionism in the late teens. This early 20th century "Murphy" frame, named for Hermann Dudley Murphy, is an especially apt choice for the piece. A contemporary of Rosen's, Murphy was an accomplished Boston painter and framemaker who worked with the likes of Charles Prendergast and James McNeil Whistler to revive the art of hand-carved, water-gilded, masterfully crafted frames in America — which, due to industrialization and mass production, had largely died out by the 1900s.
This tradition is carried on today through the work of highly skilled artisans around the country, including our own Master Framemaker and Gilder, who milled, hand-carved, and gilded this frame.
